Active Programs
WattsApp Home Charging Rewards
WattsApp pays 21 points per kWh (100 points = $1) for home charging through a Tesla Gen 3 or Universal Wall Connector linked to a Tesla account, funded by Canada's Clean Fuel Regulations credit market. At 5,000 kWh a year that is about $1,050, plus up to $150 a year in Supercharging reimbursements. A Tesla vehicle is not required. Rates can change and earnings are not guaranteed.

Electric Vehicle Affordability Program (EVAP)
Canada's new federal EV purchase incentive replaced the old iZEV program in February 2026. Get up to $5,000 off a new battery-electric vehicle (BEV) or up to $2,500 off a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) - applied at the dealership, no paperwork required. It applies to the vehicle, not to the home charger or its installation.
- New BEV or PHEV purchase or lease on/after Feb 16, 2026
- Final transaction value at or under $50,000 (no cap for Canadian-made EVs)
- Vehicle must be built in Canada or a free-trade-agreement country
- One incentive per vehicle - applied directly at point of sale
The $5,000 BEV rebate is at its maximum in 2026 and will step down to $4,000 in 2027. Act now for the highest incentive.
Ultra-Low Overnight (ULO) Rate Plan
Ontario's ULO price plan charges just 3.9¢ per kWh from 11pm to 7am every day, versus 9.8¢ off-peak and 15.7¢ mid-peak (Ontario Energy Board rates for Nov 1, 2025 to Oct 31, 2026; prices reset each November 1). Charging 5,000 kWh a year overnight costs about $195, versus about $490 at 9.8¢ or $785 at 15.7¢. The tradeoff is a 39.1¢ on-peak price from 4pm to 9pm on weekdays.
- Offered by Ontario utilities, including Toronto Hydro, Alectra, Oakville Hydro and Elexicon - confirm with your utility
- Switch through your utility account - no fee, and you can change plans later
- Works best when most charging happens overnight
- Needs a smart Level 2 charger that can schedule charging times
Pair your new Level 2 charger with the ULO plan. A smart charger (Emporia, ChargePoint, Wallbox) lets you set an automatic overnight schedule from your phone. We set it up for you at install.
Alectra SmartCharge Pilot
Alectra's SmartCharge pilot gave 50 participants a discounted Level 2 charger with managed installation for $25 to $40 a month, in exchange for joining demand-response events. Initial recruitment is closed and new applications are waitlisted. The pilot is scheduled to wrap up in late 2026.
- Alectra customers (Mississauga, Brampton, Vaughan, Markham, Richmond Hill, Aurora, Hamilton, Guelph, Barrie and others) in a single-family home or townhome
- Battery-electric vehicle owners or lessees only (plug-in hybrids excluded)
- No existing Level 2 charger; room for at least a 40A breaker
- Panel and service upgrades are not included
This is a pilot, not a standing rebate, and it is waitlist-only. We could not confirm a current Alectra rebate on charger hardware, so do not wait on one. A direct install plus the ULO plan is usually faster.
Recently Closed Programs
Toronto Hydro PeakSaver Plus
Toronto Hydro's demand-response program previously offered a rebate toward a smart Level 2 EV charger when you enrolled your charger in their PeakSaver demand-management network. It is no longer available.
Check with Toronto Hydro in case a similar program returns. We can review any other savings you may qualify for as part of your free quote.
Canada Greener Homes Grant
The federal Greener Homes Grant closed to new applications in February 2024 and fully wound down December 31, 2025. It covered EV charger installation, insulation, windows, heat pumps, and more. While no longer accepting applicants, it's worth knowing for context.
If you applied before the deadline and are still awaiting payment, contact Natural Resources Canada directly.
ZEVIP Home Charger Rebate (Paused)
The Zero-Emission Vehicle Infrastructure Program (ZEVIP) previously offered up to $1,000 toward home Level 2 charger installation in Ontario. The residential stream was paused in January 2025. The commercial/public stream (ChargeON) remains open for businesses and municipalities.
